Design
Barcode & Index Design
Generate a barcode set whose minimum distance is guaranteed rather than hoped for, inspect every barcode in it, and extend a set you are already committed to. The designer enumerates its own candidate pool, so it needs no input sequences.
Six published FREE-divergence index sets and the paper's own 100-read decoding example: design, audit, prune and demultiplex against reference data
What it does
- 01Barcode set design with a guaranteed minimum distance
- 02Per-barcode profile: GC, longest homopolymer run, nearest neighbour and which barcode it collides with
- 03Set statistics, including distance and nearest-neighbour histograms and per-cycle entropy
- 04Colour-balance checks per cycle
- 05QA report where an unsupplied check reports as skipped rather than as passed
- 06Set comparison, including the minimum distance two sets guarantee when pooled together
- 07Extension of a locked set, keeping the barcodes already in use
- 08Export as CSV, TSV, FASTA, JSON or a sample sheet
What it runs on
Design and analysis run on the barcode engine in packages/ports, ported from DNABarcodes and golden-validated against it. The panel runs on @ports/barcode.
Everything runs client-side. Files are parsed in the browser and projects are saved on this machine, so an unpublished sequence is never uploaded.
Questions
- Can I add barcodes to a set already in use?
- Yes. A locked set is kept as-is and the designer adds new barcodes that respect the minimum distance against it, reporting any pair inside the locked set that is already too close.
- Does it check colour balance?
- Yes, per cycle, and every violation names the barcodes responsible so the set can be corrected.
